Music has always played an important role in the life of rising pop sensation Renee Rapp. As her debut album Snow Angel climbs the charts, Rapp inspired listeners to indulge in the chaos and delusion. In a conversation with Universal Music's 1824, Renee Rapp explores all the different emotions that we feel whilst navigating our early 20s. She shard how delusion has helped her in saying "I don't mean delusional in a sense that it isn't going to happen at all. I say delusion as in, no matter how much I doubt myself in something, I am going to fucking do it." It is this very mindset that Renee Rapp has been able to accumulate such a strong group of supporters.
While her talents spread across music, and screen and stage acting, Renee has been able to intertwine her different skills to make her a better creative. "I'm a theater kid," She explained, "I think theatre and storytelling is equivalent to great writing. I've been listening to pop and R&B, but I came from Sondheim and Andrew Lippa". This creative intelligence translates so beautifully through Renee Rapp's debut album Snow Angel where she reveals her most vulnerable and sonically polished work yet. My personal favourite trait of Renee's music is her indecisiveness; she is somehow able to combine a feeling of confidence and insecurity at the same time where tracks bounce between confused loss and pure power to implement such a unique sensation.
Throughout her career thus far, Renee Rapp has done an astounding job at showcasing her individuality as a human, but also by using her self expression to inspire others. As her music dabbles in raw subject matter like heartbreak, she connect with her audience on a level far deeper than surface.
Renee Rapp' debut album Snow Angel has already has quite an impact on the pop music scene only a few weeks after its release. If you have not yet hear this incredible collection of songs, I strongly encourage you to check it out now. Renee has also recently started her tour with Towa Bird and Alexander 23 so if you love the album as much as I do, you'll want to see her live in a city near you!
