There is a short list of artists that I've held close to me for the vast majority of my life due to my pure love and admiration for them and The Driver Era is surly at the top of the list. Wednesday, May 8, 2024, The Driver Era took the stage at History in Toronto as the final show for their North American tour. This was my third time seeing the band preform, but it was my first time working their show as a photographer. I spent the first few songs taking pictures and put my camera away afterwards to enjoy the show. I hear that they were doing an alternate setlist through the tour but I was surprised to see them preform all my favorite songs. As I was watching the show I found myself in awe of the performance I was witnessing. I've seen this artist before, but I don't think I truly realized how unbelievably talented they were until now. Their music is amazing, but it is so fascinating how they adapted their recorded tracks to be preformed on stage is a way that captivated their audience for the full set. Their performance etiquette and skill shows just how long these brothers have been doing this, and they're still not anywhere near receiving the industry recognition they deserve.
As the night progressed, The Driver Era proved once again why they hold such a special place in the hearts of their fans. The energy in the venue was electric, with every note they played resonating deeply with the crowd. It was clear that the band poured their hearts and souls into every moment of the performance. Ross and Rocky Lynch's stage presence was magnetic, drawing the audience into their world with each chord they strummed and every lyric they sang. Their chemistry as brothers and bandmates was palpable, adding an extra layer of magic to the already enchanting atmosphere.
As the final notes of the encore faded away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for being able to witness such an incredible performance. The Driver Era may not have reached the pinnacle of mainstream recognition yet, but their talent and dedication are undeniable. If this concert was any indication, their star is only continuing to rise, and I can't wait to see where their journey takes them next.
