Over the course of my life thus far, there have been a hand full of pop artists who exude a type of star power. Tate Mcrea is one of those artists that the term 'pop star' was created for. Over the past few years, Tate has been able to captivate a mass of fans who admire her heartfelt realism and pop-trap sounds.
I know, hearing heartfelt and pop-trap used to describe the same sound is rather unexpected, but that is truly the perfect descriptor for Tate's sound. Her latest album THINK LATER is what I would call the most well rounded pop diva album possibly of the past decade. Through this album, tracks like greedy, run for the hills, and we're not alike, have sort of a Y2K Britney Spears vibe to them. Whereas some of her more vulnerable tracks like grave, calgary, and plastic palm trees, remind me of the lyrical intimacy found in a lot of Taylor Swifts music.

I think a major reason as to why people connect with Tate is how her music is all so familiar while being so unique. She dabbles on relatable subject matter and sounds that are rather nostalgic, but the final product she puts out is so unique. Over the past year years alone, Tate has taken over the world of pop music and rightfully so. This album strongly showcases her journey in discovering herself through her music. In comparison to her debut album, Tate has been able to take more risks which surly has something to do with her maturing.
Although she's been taking over the charts, this is just the beginning for Tate Mcrea and I can't wait to see what she has in store. Be sure to listen to THINK LATER and check our her upcoming tour (i'll be at the Toronto show 😄)
