Zach Bryan has become one of the most recognizable names for country music fans, and rightfully so. His recent spike in popularity has allowed for him to quickly transition from preforming concert halls to selling out stadiums.
On June 20, Zach Bryan took the stage of Ford Field in Detroit for his Quittin Time Tour. I'm a relativly new listen of Zach's music but I love his recent self titled album. I was looking forward to this show, but I'm not sure if I was satisfied. Zach Bryan has amassed a huge fanbase over such a short period of time that securing tickets for his current tour was nearly impossible but I managed to win the ticketmaster war for his show in Detroit. I had my hopes set quite high for this show but as I left the venue, I was unsure of how to feel. His setlist was compiled of a variety of songs from different points of his career. I will say he lost some major points from me when he skipped over playing Something In The Orange. That song played such a pivotal role in Zach's career that it's expected and almost essential that it's on the setlist.
That was probably the first part about the show that set me off, other than that the show was good. Just good. His stage presence was iffy, he excelled for the highly anticipated songs like the encore Revival which everyone was excited for. But other than those few songs, I could tell that he's still learning to navigate these larger venues. I will however say that my personal favourite part of the show was the stage production. His crew absolutely killed it with the lighting and the overall stage set up.
I don't want it to sound like I had a horrible time at the show because that's not the case. I did have very high hopes going into to and he just didn't live up to the expectations.
